The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team used the Jerez Moto2 & Moto3 Official Test to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Moto2 action. With the season due to start next weekend at the stunning Losail International Circuit, Ayumu Sasaki and Jeremy Alcoba made the most of their time on track to get their base set-up ready. They finished in 27th and 15th place in the combined Day-3 classification.

Sasaki worked to get a good feeling with his bike on the first testing day, scoring a 1'42.451 in the last session. Thursday’s work has been different: the target was find a good setting to stay under the 1’42, and the goal has been achieved in the second lap of FP5. The last day has been trickier, and at the end of the second session, he had a crash that costed a lot of work on the bike, forcing him to lose half of the session. He finished in P27 in the combined Day3 result.

We can say that this test has been as the first one for Alcoba this year, because due to the bad weather in Portimão, he’s only been on his bike for 10 laps. He started the Jerez test with positive feelings, finishing Day1 in 15th position on the general standing. On the second day, he made his best overall lap in the first session, scoring a 1'41.298, but the afternoon has been more demanding. In Day3, he completed a race simulation, and he worked on two different set up. Jeremy has been fast enough to achieve a P9 in the last session of the week, and that’s an important boost in sight of the Qatari Gran Prix.

The team will be back in 7 days’ time from Losail at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar.
