"In my opinion, today we chose the wrong strategy for the time attack during Practice. Before that, we had a small issue with the bike and had to change the tires immediately, so I went out for a longer run on the soft tire. The pace wasn’t bad, and despite the drop, you could already get a sense of how the Sprint might go. Then, because of the tire situation, we had to start the first time attack earlier than planned. I went out alone and managed an acceptable lap time. After that, I was more or less convinced to go out alone again for the second time attack, but with the team we decided to wait and try to catch a reference — and that turned out to be the wrong choice. Everything went backwards from there. For me, it’s actually worse here when I follow someone. Even though I struggled a bit in sectors 1 and 2, I felt like I had a 1’19” in the pocket. Now I’ll have to go through Q1. Let’s see what the conditions are like tomorrow — whether it rains, rains heavily, or if it’s a mix — which would be the most difficult scenario for us."
