Summer isn’t over, but the holidays are. Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP is back on track this weekend after three weeks off, facing the 13th of 22 rounds on the calendar at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The Spielberg circuit stretches for 4.348 km and is known for having only 10 corners, three of which — turns 1, 2, and 4 — are particularly demanding on the brakes, while turns 3 and 10 are also very challenging. Brembo, supplier of braking systems for all teams, rates the Austrian circuit with the maximum difficulty level (6 out of 6), as riders spend 33% of lap time braking.

While Miguel Oliveira had a chance to relax taking a short holiday with his family before gearing up for the Austria-Hungary back-to-back, Jack Miller barely had time to rest. On August 3rd, he starred with the Yamaha team at the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race. Alongside Andrea Locatelli and Katsuyuki Nakasuga, Jack secured second place after a tightly contested race that saw the Iwata squad battling for victory until the final laps of the 46th edition.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Miller returns to the Red Bull Ring with strong memories, having three career podiums here: third from pole position, and a second place during the doubleheader in the 2020 season (Austrian and Styrian GPs), as well as another third in 2022 (both in race and qualifying). Ironically, it was Miguel who denied Miller a near-certain win in the 2020 Styrian GP with a last-gasp overtake in a three-way battle, claiming his first-ever MotoGP victory.

After the first 12 races of the season, Miller sits 14th in the overall standings with 52 points, while Oliveira is 25th with 6. Prima Pramac Yamaha holds 11th place in the team standings with 61 points.
