It was a Friday in Hungary that marked the debut of the Balaton Park Circuit, but one that ended with the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team taking less than what the morning session had suggested. An afternoon Practice session heavily influenced by strong winds made it even more difficult to push to the limit on a track that is not particularly fast but highly technical and treacherous, with constant rhythm and direction changes.

Jack Miller finished 17th and Miguel Oliveira 18th, meaning both riders will face Q1 tomorrow morning in search of the two available spots to advance into Q2. For Sunday’s race, Miller will also serve a three-place grid penalty after being judged to have impeded Francesco Bagnaia at Turn 3 during the final 20 minutes of Practice.
