The Yamaha Factory Racing Team continued their testing plan at the Grand Prix of the Netherlands today. Augusto Fernández wrapped up the afternoon Practice at the TT Circuit Assen in 22nd place, putting him on the entry list for tomorrow's Q1.

Focused on data gathering, the number-47 rider was set on getting as many laps in as possible despite the heat at the Assen track. He completed 20 laps in FP1 and another 22 in the Practice. Fernández improved his 1'33.999s best morning time to a 1'33.110s in the afternoon outing on his final try. It had him finish in 22nd place in the Practice results.

The MotoGP action will resume tomorrow: FP2 will be held from 10:10-10:40 (GMT+2), followed by the qualifying sessions from 10:50-11:30, and the 13-lap Sprint that starts at 15:00.

"I spent today recovering the feeling again. I expected, coming here, that the first day would be hard, especially here. You know that everyone is going to be on the pace from the first lap. The target for the weekend is to close the gap as soon as possible and finish the weekend with a better pace, so we will be in a better position to try things and test things. These wildcard races are very useful for me."
