Points-Result for Yamaha Factory Racing Team as They Successfully Conclude Dutch GP Programme
The Yamaha Factory Racing Team used the sunny but hot conditions of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands Sunday to secure further bike data. Wild-card entry Augusto Fernández finished the 26-lap Race in 15th place.

The Yamaha Factory Racing Team completed their Grand Prix of the Netherlands testing programme on a super sunny race day. Wild-card entry Augusto Fernández was able to secure further MotoGP battle data and crossed the finish line in P15.
Fernández commenced the race from P20 and found himself at the back of the pack in the same position after two rivals crashed in the opening stages. The test rider passed Maverick Viñales on lap 4 and was rapidly chasing down Cal Crutchlow. He overtook him for P18 on lap 5. Viñales and Fernández battled again and on lap 7 he was overtaken, but a crash by another rider on lap 10 had the number 47 circulate in P18 once more. It became a lonely ride. With three more riders failing to finish the race, Fernández took the chequered flag in 15th place, 1'00.826s from first.
Following today's race results, Fernández now holds 24th place in the standings with 5 points.
"It been a tough weekend overall. We didn't find a solution in the set-up, but I did get the experience of a full-distance race to prepare for what's next. We have some more tests planned. We need to analyse everything from this weekend and keep working, because everything we improve will be the base for next year. I like to be racing, and I enjoy the GP weekends anyway, so I hope to be here again soon."
