
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Collect Valuable Data at Misano Test

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli returned to action at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli today, keen to boost their overall performance. They finished the Misano MotoGP Official Test in sixth and eighth place respectively in the combined P1+P2 timesheets.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team returned to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the scene of yesterday’s San Marino GP, for the one-day 2023 Official Misano MotoGP Test. Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli used today’s two practice sessions (P1 held from 09:00-12:45 and P2 held from 14:00-18:00) to compare various testing items. They secured sixth and eighth place respectively in the overall results.
Quartararo was looking forward to starting his testing programme this morning. He had a busy schedule, trying new items such as the aero package and engine as well as new Michelin tyres. He completed 41 laps in Practice 1 and 50 laps in Practice 2. His fastest time was set on his very last lap of the day. That 1’31.177s put him in sixth place in the overall test rankings, 0.575s from first.
Morbidelli was keen to spend the available track time of the Misano Test to further build on improving the performance of the bike. The Italian was trying various specifications and some other items, including the new chassis. He rode 32 laps in the morning and 44 laps in afternoon to make a good comparison between new solutions. Setting a 1’31.301s in the final stages of P2, he finished the test in eighth place, 0.699s from the top.
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP will be back in action in two weeks’ time, when they start Round 13, the Grand Prix of India, held at the Buddh International Circuit.
