Misano Adriatico (Italy), 15 September 2025
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo returned to the scene of the Grand Prix of San Marino for a one-day IRTA Test. Eager to step aboard the V4-Powered Prototype during the Misano MotoGP Official Test, they collected valuable data and gave important feedback to shape the new bike's future development. The teammates ended the day in 17th and 18th place respectively in the combined classifications.

The Misano Test was divided into two parts: Session 1 from 10:00-12:45 and Session 2 from 14:00-18:00 (GMT+2). During the test, Rins, Quartararo, and Miller were given the opportunity to ride the V4-Powered Prototype.

Rins was keen to get back on track. He rode the 2025 M1 in the morning before trying the V4-Powered Prototype for a second time after last week's test in Montmeló. He completed 46 laps in Session 1. The 1'31.571s (lap 39) he posted put him in 15th place in the morning results with a 0.857s gap to first. The Spaniard hopped on the new bike in the afternoon. To complete his testing programme, he put in 34 more laps in Session 2. His best time, a 1'32.101s, clocked on lap 30, saw him in 20th position in the Session 2 results, 1.727s from first. His faster morning time had him end the Misano Test in 17th position in the overall timesheets, 1.197s off the fastest time.

Quartararo was the first to take the new bike out for a spin today and focused on comparing the feeling of the prototype in Barcelona with the feeling in Misano. The Frenchman completed 35 laps in the morning session, setting a best time of 1'31.781s (lap 35) which put him in 18th place in the results, 1.067s off the fastest time. In the afternoon session, he added 38 laps. His best effort, a 1'31.598s posted on lap 38 had him finish 16th in the Session 2 timesheets, 1.224s from first. It also saw him rank 18th in the combined timesheets, 1.224s from the top.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will now enjoy a one-week break before the Motegi-Mandalika double header, starting with the Grand Prix of Japan held from 26-28 September.

"Over the last four days, this has been the first evaluation of the V4-Powered Prototype amidst all the other competitors and under race conditions, as well as the second opportunity for Fabio and Álex to makes some kilometres on the new bike. We're at the early stages of this bike's development journey and we can't use lap times as an objective indication of the progress of this project. Looking at this GP and test from an objective point of view, it's established that the base has potential. We now naturally have to adjust and further develop the prototype according to our findings."

"I'm quite happy with how the new bike works – it has a lot of positive things and there is a lot of room for improvement. I was feeling good on braking. It's too early to have a 'final bike' yet. For sure, the next time we jump on the new bike, many parts will have changed. We were quite far in terms of lap time, but the V4-Powered Prototype also has good grip. We are heading in the right way."

"This was the first time people could see me ride the V4 publicly, so I think it's normal that there's a lot of attention when you return after your first run. Of course, this bike is still in an early stage, so there's still a lot of work to do. We didn't have the same feeling as we did in Barcelona, but there's a margin for improvement. I have zero problems adapting to the V4 engine. But I don't think we should expect the engine to solve all problems all at once. There are also other key areas like settings and electronics that need to be adjusted. We are exploring the potential right now."
