
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Evaluate New Items at Jerez Test

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli returned to the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto today for the one-day official IRTA Jerez Test. They finished the day in 3rd and 16th place respectively.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli had a productive day of riding at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto during today’s Jerez MotoGP Official Test. The teammates used the eight hours of track time to evaluate updated aerodynamic items as well as a new exhaust. They wrapped up the session in 3rd and 16th place respectively.
Quartararo was greatly motivated to get back into action this morning. He showed his work ethic, running a total of 88 laps throughout the day to complete his jam-packed testing plan. The Frenchman made a step, setting multiple provisional fastest times of the day. His 1’36.725s, set on lap 60, kept him in the top spot until 1.5 hours before the end of the session. He finished the day in third place, 0.151s from first.
Like his teammate, Morbidelli had a busy schedule as he was keen to make full use of the extra track time in Andalusia. The Italian did many short runs to compare various items and settings, with the sole aim to up the performance for the remaining rounds. His fastest time, a 1’37.543s, set on lap 32/80, saw him finish the test in 16th place in the overall timesheets, 0.969s from the top.
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will be back in action at the end of next week for the Grand Prix de France.
