Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Ready for Round-8 Racing Action in Aragon

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team have travelled to Aragon, Spain, to resume the 2025 MotoGP World Championship. After a one-week break, Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are eager to kick off the action at the MotorLand Aragón.
Alcañiz (Spain), 4th June 2025
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is looking forward to resume racing action this weekend at the MotorLand Aragón.

Fabio Quartararo holds 8th place in the championship standings as he arrives in Alcañiz. He is anticipating a challenging weekend in Aragon but, as ever, will put his best foot forward aiming to continue the momentum gained at previous races. El Diablo's best premier-class result here up till now is his top-5 finish in 2019.

Álex Rins holds 17th place in the overall classification at the moment and is highly motivated to climb up the rankings. He previously achieved great success at the Aragon track, having secured a victory in Moto3 in 2013, a second place in Moto2 in 2015, and a back-to-back victory and second place in MotoGP in 2020 at the Aragon and Teruel GP.

The MotorLand Aragón circuit was added to the MotoGP calendar in 2010. After briefly missing from the line-up in 2023, it made its return last year. The track is situated near the town of Alcañiz, a few hours' drive from Barcelona. The fast 5.1km long track has ten left and seven right corners, and a 968m longest straight.

This weekend Augusto Fernández will also be in action on the Aragon track. He will spearhead the Yamaha Factory Racing Team as a wild-card rider during Round 8 of the 2025 FIM MotoGP World Championship. He will also join the Aragon MotoGP Test on Monday, 9 June.

"It was an emotional end to the British GP for Fabio and the team, so the one-week break was a welcome period of rest and reflection for us all. It allowed us to take a breath, gain perspective, and draw up a plan of action for the upcoming round. MotorLand Aragón is a nice track. It's not a 'typical Yamaha circuit', but that makes it a good testing ground. We have been making progress at previous GPs and are curious to see how we can perform in Alcañiz. If we see another positive performance level here this weekend, it will confirm our improvements. It's key to keep working methodically like we have been doing this season so far. At this GP we will also have our test team, so we aim to collect good data whilst working on bike development. On Monday there will also be the IRTA Test, where the evaluation of the bike will continue."

"The British GP didn't end how we wanted, and at the time it was super tough to take, not just for me, but also for the team, the engineers, and the fans. But there were also positives to take away from that Race. I was super fast, and we were leading the race by a big margin – that felt great! So, now it's our aim to keep working like we have been doing and create another opportunity like that to fight at the front again. This weekend will be a challenge, though. Aragon is usually not an easy circuit for me, but I will give it my 100% anyway."

"We have completed more or less one third of the 2025 MotoGP season, and we are improving step by step, but we're far from where we want to be. The Aragon track is not an easy one, but we enter this GP with ambition and a positive mindset about where and how can we improve. Last year I had a solid Race here, and I hope to be able to improve on our last result."
