Misano Adriatico (Italy), 10th September 2025
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team aim to keep the upward trajectory of the Grand Prix of Catalonia going at the upcoming Grand Prix of San Marino. Riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are gearing up for this race weekend – which will be followed by a MotoGP Official Test on the Monday – with high enthusiasm.
Quartararo enters the beloved Misano circuit as eighth in the overall standings following a second place in the Catalan GP Sprint and a fifth place in the Race. He is aiming to grab solid points again this weekend at a track that holds a special place in his heart: he secured the MotoGP World Championship Title here in 2021. The Frenchman has visited the MotoGP rostrum in Misano before, scoring second place in both 2019 and 2021 (San Marino GP).
The Misano track was also a successful hunting ground for Rins in the lower classes. He stood on the podium there three times in total: he won the Moto3 races in 2013 and 2014 and secured second place in Moto2 in 2016. His best MotoGP result came in 2018 when he took fourth. The Spaniard is currently in 19th position in the championship standings. Despite a crash in the Catalan GP Race, Rins is in good shape and hopes to score positive results this weekend.
The Misano circuit, constructed in 1972, was a regular scene for Italian Grands Prix throughout the 80s and early 90s. The 4.2 km track is ridden clockwise after a radical renovation was done to meet MotoGP's safety regulations in 2007 that put the circuit back on the MotoGP calendar. The upgrade also included a new chicane, resulting in the current layout of six left and ten right corners and giving the track increased racing excitement.
