Yamaha Campus Enters Collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and Becomes Main Sponsor of the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory MotoStudent team

Yamaha is proud to
announce a new collaboration with Politecnico di Milano’s Mechanical
Department. As part of this initiative, the Yamaha Campus in Gerno di Lesmo
becomes the main sponsor of the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory team, which is
competing in the eighth edition of the MotoStudent competition with a completely new electric prototype and is preparing to
debut in the Italian Speed Championship (CIV) Moto3 category later this year.
Founded in 2015, the
PoliMi Motorcycle Factory was created to provide students with hands-on
experience in motorsports engineering. Over 400 students from engineering,
architecture, and design have taken part in the programme, building prototype
race bikes and competing internationally.
This real-world
training has already launched several careers, with alumni joining top
companies in the sector, including Yamaha Motor Racing and Yamaha Motor Europe
R&D.
The collaboration
reflects the Yamaha Campus’ commitment to innovation, talent development, and
multidimensional collaboration. The Campus is home to Yamaha’s Racing (MotoGP,
WorldSBK), Music, Sales & Marketing, and R&D divisions, making it a
unique corporate environment where diverse Yamaha 'spirits' converge.
The Yamaha Campus
recently welcomed PoliMi students and previewed the 2025 Moto3 prototype, powered
by a Yamaha YZF450 engine and fully developed by the students. Throughout the
2025 racing season, the Yamaha Campus logo will be featured prominently on both
the MotoStudent and Moto3 bikes, as well as on the team’s official materials.
This partnership not
only bridges academic learning and professional motorsports but also
strengthens Yamaha’s long-term vision of nurturing talent and fostering
sustainability within a collaborative ecosystem.

We are very pleased with Yamaha Campus’ sponsorship towards PoliMi
Motorcycle Factory’s team. This is an important recognition from the world of
motorsport which acknowledges the commitment and passion our students conveyed
into this project, demonstrating their personal and professional growth.
Initiatives like this perfectly embody the spirit of our School of Engineering:
we seek to provide strong theoretical training with hands-on, practical
experience in a highly challenging and educational environment.
At the Yamaha Campus, we place great emphasis on collaboration, creativity, innovation, and sustainability, core values we proudly share with the PoliMi Motorcycle Factory project. This initiative embodies the same forward-thinking spirit that defines our Campus, where we foster open exchange and continuous development.
Supporting and inspiring the next generation of engineers and designers is a strategic priority to enhance the future employee experience at Yamaha. By engaging with passionate students in projects like this one, where academic learning meets real-world motorsport challenges, we aim to attract top talent and further enrich our dynamic company culture.
