Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo showed great pace in the second half of the Grand Prix of Czechia and rode to a 6th place. Álex Rins was fighting in the mid-pack and finished in 15th position.
Brno (Czech Republic), 20th July 2025
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo put his head down in the Grand Prix of Czechia MotoGP Race to ultimately take 6th position. Álex Rins sparred with multiple rivals at the Automotodrom Brno track this afternoon and took 15th place.

Starting from P3, Quartararo initially held his position through the first few corners but lost some ground over the opening four laps and was relegated to seventh. On lap 7, Enea Bastianini crashed out, handing the Frenchman sixth place. With a big gap forming to the riders ahead and behind him, the Yamaha man was able to focus on riding his own race. He was setting personal best laps towards the end, but he came just short to be able to launch an attack on Raul Fernandez for fifth. Quartararo took the chequered flag 11.039s from the winner.

Rins began the Race from P15 and after an eventful first lap was in the same position as where he started from. On lap 6, Miguel Oliveira ran wide, and one lap later Bastianini crashed, allowing the Spaniard up to 13th. However, it wasn't to last. Rins engaged in battle with a chasing Pol Espargaró and Ai Ogura on lap 11 and 12 respectively and was delegated to 15th. Fabio Di Giannantonio looked threatening as well, but the number 42 picked up the pace and defended his 15th place and one championship point successfully, crossing the finish line 22.563s from first.

After today's results, Quartararo is in 9th place in the overall standings with 102 points, and Rins remains in 18th position with 42 points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP are 6th in the team championship with 144 points, and Yamaha is in 5th position in the constructor championship with 133 points.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will now enjoy a three-week summer break before they return to action for the Grand Prix of Austria, which will be held in Spielberg from 15-17 August.

"It was a more challenging race than we expected. Fabio had a good start again, but he couldn't defend his position from the chasing riders. Still, he showed commendable focus, maintained consistency – with his pace also picking up at the end – to finish the Race in sixth place. Álex battled in the crowded mid-pack again, and it was a tough race. Having not the best qualifying result here this weekend, made the Sprint and Race very difficult for him. While this result is of course not quite what we aimed for, we'll analyse today's data and prepare to come back stronger for the next round. But first, the riders and team members will enjoy a few weeks of rest to fully recharge for the second half of the 2025 season."

"I had a similar race to yesterday. The first five laps are complicated for us. We started with a completely different setting this morning that I really like. It was nice to experience it in the race and try something different. My pace was not bad, especially on the last five laps. We know where we can improve, especially when riding in a group. We are working hard on this."

"It was tough to do better, not in terms of results but in terms of lap times. It is hard to fight. If we had to focus on just one thing to improve right now, it's qualifying so we can start in a better way. We need more consistency in qualifying, and then the race is another step. We need to keep working after the three-week break."
