Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Teammates are Excited to Chart New Territory in Hungary

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team are full of motivation at the start of the Grand Prix of Hungary held at the Balaton Park Circuit this weekend, a new addition to the MotoGP calendar.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team are excited to start the next challenge: for the Grand Prix of Hungary they will be competing at a, for the MotoGP paddock, new track. Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are keen to get to grips with the Balaton Park Circuit as fast as possible during Round 14 of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship.

After a challenging outing in Austria, Quartararo is hoping to make a comeback this weekend. He currently holds 10th position in the championship standings and is aiming for solid points this weekend. The Frenchman is curious to see how quickly he can adapt to the Balaton Park Circuit after studying its layout during the recent WorldSBK round held there in July.

Heading straight from Austria to Hungary, Rins is in full work-mode. The Spaniard is in joint-18th place in the championship standings and eager to make some steps this weekend. He is on a personal mission to adapt his riding style and noticed the first signs of progress last weekend. He aims to quickly find a good rhythm this Friday, as that is vital to having a good GP.

The Balaton Park Circuit was officially opened in May 2023. Its layout consists of 4.08km of track with 7 right and 10 left corners, and a longest straight of 665m. None of the MotoGP riders has previous experience at this circuit on a premier-class bike, so the fans can look forward to a level playing field as the Hungarian GP FP1 session starts on Friday morning.

Team Director, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP

"After a tough weekend in Spielberg, we're turning the page and looking forward to a fresh challenge at the Balaton Park track. It's always exciting to explore a new circuit, and this one carries special significance – MotoGP returns to Hungary for the first time since 1992. Our test team visited this track already in June, and they gave positive feedback. This weekend, the local fans will finally get to experience the spectacle of MotoGP live again, and we want to put on a good show for them. The team is eager to get to work, understand the track characteristics, and give a performance that reflects our determination to bounce back."

"The team, of course, worked very hard to gather all the data and figure out what happened in Austria. I am completely focused on this GP. It's my first time riding at Balaton Park. Trying a new circuit is always fun as a rider, and we also get to meet the Hungarian fans. It will be interesting to see if this track suits us, and if we can make a step this weekend."

"Yamaha is trying to understand why the Austrian GP was so hard – taking notes and making improvements for next year. Understanding why is the most important thing. But everyone in the team and the test team is giving it their all. The positive thing about back-to-back races is that we can keep working, and personally I can also continue my progression in adapting my riding style. Balaton Park is a new circuit for all of us, and every rider will be trying to find the right lines and braking points, so for sure the first FP session will be very important."
